Co-Curriculum
Mission of Co-Curriculum
To provide category-mediated, student-specific co-curriculum with purposeful evaluations, content-based closing the loop, and clear communication.
Co-Curriculum Categories and Outcomes
The NEOMED College of Pharmacy Co-Curriculum is intentionally built within the framework of the Professional Development Advising Team (PDAT) and Personal and Professional Development for Pharmacy (PPDP) Course Series, throughout the P1-P4 years. The program is linked to the 2022 AACP Curriculum Outcomes and Entrustable Professional Activities, also commonly referred to as “COEPA.”
There are five categories of co-curriculum activities that students can use to satisfy co-curriculum requirements:
- Collaboration and Teams (COEPA 2.1, 2.2, 2.9, 3.1, 3.2)
- Cultural Awareness (COEPA 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 3.1, 3.2)
- Personal and Professional Development (COEPA 2.2, 3.1, 3.2)
- Population Health/Community Service (COEPA 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.7, 3.1, 3.2)
- Patient Care (COEPA 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.5, 2.7, 2.9, 3.1, 3.2)
PDAT advisors are integral guides for students to select Co-Curricular Activities, an additional ACPE requirement that instructs students to develop affective skills through both curricular and co-curricular requirements. As such, the PPDP course series, PDAT program advising, and co-curricular activities are tightly linked to help students develop a customizable experience for their personal and professional growth.
Students are required to complete a minimum of three co-curriculum activities each academic year.
To achieve “recognition” in a co-curriculum category, a student must complete five activities in that category. The student will be awarded a badge within CampusGroups, and students can list this recognition on their CV in the “Honors & Awards” section.
